Hogleg Leather - Custom Leather Goods, Cowboy & Native American Items & Much More

Is based on the following belief:

Profit is a necessity for every business, but outrageous pricing is not the way to make a profit, or cultivate and maintain great customers.
I believe if quality products are offered at affordable prices, a trust can, and will, develop with my customers.
They will not only return for future needs, they will tell their friends and pards.
I know a recommendation from a shooting partner is the best advertising a product can have!!

As a shooter myself, I understand what is needed from the leather we use in our sport.

Hogleg Leather is committed to meeting your specific needs and desires. I am dedicated to supplying unique, high-quality products you will be proud to own, at a price you can afford.

All of the hand crafted items you will see on this site are one of a kind. All the leather is crafted to a shooters request. I do not pre-make any stock to sit around and get old.

As often as is possible, the holsters are molded to a shooters specific pistols and the rig is built and designed around a theme or alias.

All of the pictures you will see are of items I have made for either myself, my wife or other shooters.

No items were made simply for posting on this site

You are most welcome to choose an item patterned after something you see here or, we can work together to make the item uniquely your own.

My preference is to build a rig around a shooting style, incorporating the character of the shooters alias.

How It All Began

The history of Hogleg Leather is really very simple.
My shooting alias is "Hogleg Charlie" and I have been a member of SASS since 2006. (SASS #71829)

While my wife came to most of the shooting events early in 2006, she expressed no desire to shoot anything but pictures. It was, as is usually the case in SASS, another member who gave me one of the greatest gifts ever.

In mid 2006, after having gotten to know my wife and I, another pard just simply handed my wife a rifle and hat, took her to a stage and told her she needed to at least try it once.

first shoot.
Notice the period correct "flip-flops"!!

I doubt I have to finish the story as you can likely guess what happened.
After shooting just that one stage, she was "hooked" and ended up shooting the rest of the match.
We have been shooting together nearly every weekend since.

Miss Rose at her second match in October of 2006.
Though much colder outside then her first shoot she was excited to learn all she could about the sport.
She is pictured with Korrupt Karl, the pard that talked her into shooting the first time, and continues to help her to this day.
I owe him many thanks for his generosity.

She chose the "B - Western" category immediately.
When it came time for Christmas that year, I naturally purchased her the necessary firearms of her own.
It was fantastic that her favorite Christmas present that year was her shotgun. I think she played with it for 3 days straight!!!

I also wanted her to have a nice "B - Western" rig.

When I began to look for rigs, I was horrified! I wanted her to have a nice rig, but I couldn't believe it would take nearly $1,000.00!

As I began to search in earnest I found every "well known" leather maker to be just as outrageous. I became convinced the passion we feel for our sport was being taken advantage of.

I called a supply company, told them what I wanted to do, asked if they could put together what I would need, and I was "off to the races" as they say.

Miss Rose has come a long way!!
The above picture of us together was taken at the 2008
Indiana state shoot, and she is still wearing her first rig.

The picture to the right is Miss Rose posing with her 3rd place plaque in Ladies B Western at the 2008 Indiana state shoot.
I would like to say it was the rig, but the truth is she has worked hard and has become very good at cowboy action shooting.

My initial investment was much less then $1,000.00, though it is not possible to say how many hours were invested it that first project.
I have, however, been making leather items ever since.

I would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and business.

I pledge to deliver you one of the best products on the market, as unique as you care to have it and, at an affordable price.

Happy Trails,
SASS #71829
