Hand Made Native American
Chokers
Breast Plates
&
Breachclouts
I am honored to offer hand made Native American chokers, breast plates and breechclouts in an effort to honor our Native American heritage.
Only synthetic materials are used for these items.
Synthetic materials allow for these items to be priced considerably less then they would be if natural materials were used.
More importantly, by not using natural items, Hogleg Leather does not contribute to the needless destruction of our diminishing wildlife. As a Native American I believe our natural resources should only be used to provide life's necessities.
The 2 pictures below demonstrate how Native American items look, and can be incorporated in dressing for a SASS or, other event.
In both pictures I am wearing a standard white cavalry hat embellished simply with a choker as a hat band and imitation eagle feathers.
I also have my set of breechcouts on (apron looking item) in both pictures.
Breechclouts are an item easy to incorporate, and can be decorated as you desire.
I have the same black and red choker on in each picture as well.
In the picture on the left I chose the Native American civil war scout look complete with my set of Navy 1851 .44 cap & ball pistols.
Wearing a red cavalry sash and blue cavalry scout coat.
I braided my hair on each side and added imitation eagle feathers at the end of each braid.
(The last touch will not work for shot hairs!!)
In the picture on the right I chose what a period Native American Cowboy might wear.
I am wearing my white and red breast plate with side fringe and imitation eagle feathers for added decoration.
The picture on the right also provides a better view of the simple hat band.
Combined with the standard cowboy rig and shooters cuffs I think it makes for a great look.
Whether or not you decide to dress to this extent I can promise it is GREAT fun!!
The looks and questions from the other shooters just adds extra enjoyment for me!!
